The 2014 vintage in Castiglion del Bosco

One of the more particular years from a climatic point of view, 2014 was characterized by a rainy but not cold winter, which led to a slight advance in the vegetative growth. The cool temperatures of spring and early summer have re-established the balance. The summer continued in line with the first summer months, rainy and not particularly hot. Healthy grapes, bunches more compact than average, for a greater weight of the berries. Good presence of color and phenolic maturation with tannins not too present but ripe.

Winification and refinement:

The qualitative excellence of the grapes allowed for prolonged maceration, beyond the fermentation times. The wine was aged in selected French oak barriques for 36 months.

Organoleptic notes

Zodiaco Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2014 is a wine with great personality, which stands out for its character right from the nose. Ample aromas of small red berries, dried roses and violets, followed by mineral and fresh notes. Excellent freshness and acidity, together with a notable, but elegant, tannic presence, make the finish balanced and pronounced.

Fiona Corsini

The label of this vintage was created by Fiona Corsini, an Italian artist, very close to the Ferragamo family. The work is in fact dedicated to her cousin Chiara Ferragamo, founder of Castiglion del Bosco together with her husband Massimo Ferragamo, to celebrate her birth, which occurs in her year of the Ox. Fiona believes in the power of art as a language, capable of breaking any cultural barrier. Since her graduation from the Academy of Fine Arts, she has become the artistic point of reference for the creation of the family’s main works.
