In 2013 Castiglion del Bosco and Massimo Ferragamo launched a limited edition Brunello di Montalcino called “Zodiac”. Every vintage is celebrated with a personalized numbered label featuring the corresponding Chinese zodiac sign, exclusively designed for us by renowned Intenational artists.

Zodiac is a wine of extraordinary character and individuality.

Every year the very best grapes are expertly selected from our finest vineyards to produce this rare Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, the fullest expression of our terroir and the singular characteristics of each vintage.

The careful selection of our finest grapes ensures that this riserva remains uniquely distinguishable over time.

A profound knowledge of our vineyards, paired with the singular characteristics of every vintage, defines the uniqueness and authenticity of these much-cherished collectors’ labels.

Collectors from all over the world covet these rare bottles; some of them are signed both by Massimo Ferragamo and the artist and are auctioned during an annual charity gala event where Castiglion Del Bosco raises money in support of different Italian as well as Chinese associations.

Originally from Manchester, Alicia France studied at Newcastle University, graduating with a BA Hons degree in Fine Art in 2016. Her subject of specialization is portraiture. Her style is characterized by a passion for illustrations and fine art prints. Alicia’s interest is highly focused on the use of color and how that can evoke emotion and personality in a piece. This has been a great focal point in the design of the label dedicated to the Year of the Dragon. Passionate about traditional Oriental art, Alicia painted this symbolic creature using colors, illustrations, and perspective characteristic of Chinese art and culture, while still managing to give it incredible depth. The artist incorporated native Montalcino plants into the anatomy of the Dragon itself: oak, beech and vine leaves are a tribute to the landscape of Castiglion Del Bosco.
