Rosso di Montalcino Kit
An introduction to different styles of Rosso di Montalcino through the wines of Castiglion del Bosco.

We suggest to start with L’America – today’s youngest wine in terms of immediacy and vision, characterized by acidic freshness and easy drinking. The plot is located at 300 meters above sea level, in a soil with good skeletal presence but rich and deep. Protected from the winds it retains the aromas derived from the forest and benefits from mitigated insolation that maintains low pH, excellent acidity, vibrant color and tannic quantitative content. Hence the idea then of having this personality expressed in a young wine aged in steel to maintain verticality of drinking and sip integrity.
The second wine is Gauggiole – the silts and clays of this parcel let fruity and persuasive notes, brilliance and centering vibrate to the glass. This is Gauggiole, which in aging benefits from the contribution of cement to keep it alive and vibrant all the way to the glass. The last wine is Deimassi – large stones together with friable and expressive clays connote this small parcel destined initially for the production of Brunello di Montalcino. Enveloping, balsamic and mineral aromas for a strong, rich Sangiovese with such tannic balance that it can express itself in a balanced and enveloping way even after a year of barrel aging. The tannic texture present and integrated makes it a wine for medium/long aging.
