Campo del Drago restaurant located in the heart of the medieval borgo of Castiglion del Bosco has been awarded with its first Michelin Star. In other words this prestigious recognition was given by the world’s most authoritative gastronomic guide. The extraordinary cuisine proposed by Chef Matteo Temperini finally received the recognition it deserves.

The restaurant is situated in the Montalcino, in the heart of the Val d’Orcia. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of the oldest and best preserved estates in Italy, offering guests an intimate and charming atmosphere.

In 2019, Matteo Temperini, joined Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco. As a matter of fact, he is taking care of all the resort’s dining: Campo del Drago Restaurant and Osteria La Canonica, with its rustic but refined setting. The ideal place to discover the most authentic local cuisine. Overall he bases his gastronomic passion in the deep connection between food, land and community.

Both Executive Chef Matteo Temperini and Maître D’ Maikol Calosci have Tuscan origin. Along with the kitchen and dining brigade they offer guests a journey through the gastronomic culture of this region. Only ingredients from the Tuscan soil are chosen. In addition, the chef, devotes great effort to the care of the Resort’s organic vegetable garden. In addition, he is working together with his trusted horticulturist to ensure that vegetables are the main element in every dish.
