We are happy to share with you the latest scores received from James Suckling on our Brunello di Montalcino 2015 and our Campo del Drago 2015 Please find below the detailed review:

“This is the best Campo del Drago I have ever had. It really shows the unique character of the elevated single vineyard of 1.5 hectares. Black cherries and flowers with hints of sandalwood and tree bark. Always pure and beautiful. Medium to full body. Ultra-fine tannins. Lightly salty character to the cherry and berry flavors. Extremely long and beautiful. Drink after 2021.” James Suckling

“Wonderful aromas of flowers, plums, terracotta and white pepper. Intense, yet ever so subtle. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a long and intense finish. Shows excellent length. Drink after 2021.” James Suckling

Below please find Cecilia’s, our wine-maker, opinion on the harvest 2015.

All grapes for the vintage 2015 have safety been harvested and our winemaker Cecilia shares some of the features of this year and what to expect of the wines.

2015 has been characterized by impeccable weather conditions. A cool and rainy spring gave the vines the right vegetative push and a good water reserve, a perfect match to the summer months with high temperature and little rain. The month of September brought optimal range of temperature contributing to a slow and complete polyphenolic ripening.

The grapes were fully matured about 7 days in advance, and at the harvest the grapes were healthy and intact, with excellent content of both sugar and acidity.”

In conclusion,

“All these features make vintage 2015 a vintage to be remembered for the great quality! If the wines will express the same potential as the grapes have we will surely have exceptional quality. We expect full and complex wines, which are vertical, elegant and destined to evolve positively in the bottle.” -? Cecilia Leoneschi, October 2015.
